Stowe House & Whittlebury Park
Sarah & Chris
We shoot weddings across England & abroad… The Church at Stowe House and The Pavilion at Whittlebury Hall near Northampton in Northamptonshire are beautiful locations for Sarah & Chris’ wedding this autumn.
Sarah & Chris’ Homecoming Wedding at Stowe House Church
We met Sarah & Chris late last year and were excited to hear they were getting married at the church in the grounds of the school where they first met – #romantic. Stowe House and School are amazing 18th-century buildings with a magnificent historic House offering the perfect stage for Sarah & Chris’ wedding. Such a stunning setting, Stowe house is located in the grounds of Stowe country park where Sarah & Chris were keen for some epic wedding photos. Set amongst the enchanting Buckinghamshire countryside and full of incredible architectural heritage as well as natural beauty – the gardens of the National Trust Stowe includes various temples, lakes and follies, all perfect backdrops for stunning wedding imagery. Various architects and sculptors, painters and gardeners have left their legacy in Stowe House & Gardens, including: William Kent, Sir John Vanbrugh, and Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
Wedding Reception at Whittlebury Park in the Pavilion
Whittlebury Park and Hotel has a choice of amazing wedding venues and rooms to choose from: The Orangery has a large entrance hall for drinks which leads into the banqueting room seating up to 150 guests during the day and 300+ for the evening reception. The Pavilion is fitted out as a fully lined marquee, complete with chandeliers, carpets and parquet dance floor. For Sarah & Chris’ Wedding the ceiling was lined with “starlight” lights making for epic first dance wedding photos. The Atrium -a magnificent entrance hall and staircase leading to the first floor reception foyer.
Sarah & Chris’ Northamptonshire Wedding
The whole wedding party stayed over at Whittlebury Park Hotel the night before the wedding, and in the morning the groom was treated to wedding gifts direct from the bridal suite (see pics below). The groomsmen were lots of fun and we got some stunning wedding images of them in the drawing room.
Unfortunately, the Parish Church at Stowe refused photography during the ceremony itself, something we have discussed in previous articles and plan / prepare for during the timeline consult and venue walk-around. Not to worry though, we got a few quick snaps after and then moved on into the gorgeous gardens at Stowe for some stunning photos instead. After this the wedding party returned to Whittlebury Hall to the Pavilion for the wedding reception and wedding breakfast.
