Nettlestead Place is a stunning Kent Wedding Venue set in the heart of the Kentish countryside with acres of beautiful land to celebrate your marriage.  Gill & Steve chose this place for their 10 year vow renewal because it had just the right touch of beauty and character for the fun day they had planned! Even Archie made it there for all the fun and festivities!

Guaranteeing exclusive use of a stunning Kentish manor house, as well as the beautiful gardens, permanent marquee, and 14th century gatehouse lined with Yew trees, Nettlestead Place is a top-tier Kent wedding venue with a long and proud history. First mentioned in the The Domesday Book of 1086, Nettlestead Place, then owned by William the Conqueror’s half-brother Odo, the Earl of Kent and Bishop of Bayeux.  St Mary’s Church on the grounds is of Saxon origin and was likely to have been included in the grounds of Odo’s manor. Nettlestead Place boasts beautiful inside and outside possibilities for wedding ceremonies – namely the beautiful Rose Garden or stunning 13th Century Undercroft.

Spectacular Summer Wedding at Nettlestead Place

In what was a very rainy period, Gill & Steve were worried that the day would be spoilt by rain and the beautiful wedding photography they wanted may not happen.  They were not to worry, as anyone who knows Mykey Day Photography knows that we only have sunny weddings – and this day would prove to be no exception!

It was Gill & Steve’s beautiful daughter who first noticed us at a wedding fair and insisted mum meet us for a chat about their wedding renewal plans.  It was an honour and a privilege to hear about the glorious ten years together of Gill & Steve, first meeting in London and then moving down to Kent for an exciting new challenge at work – one which Gill approached with exciting vigour when looking for a new family home!  We thought it was particularly touching that this beautiful couple plan to renew their vows every ten years and we’re already counting the days until we get to relive this fun day with them all over again!

The day started at this wonderful home with some fun prep-photos with the boys, moving swiftly on to the venue for some more fun photos together.  We moved upstairs to the bridal room to see some fun and exciting bridesmaids ready for a super fun day ahead!  The girls were on top form with some fun photos!

The ceremony was overseen by Steve’s old school teacher no less! A steady pair of hands that guided us through a ceremony of singing, speeches, readings, and declarations of love that will reverberate through the ages! Afternoon tea for two was preceded by some epic creative wedding photos as well as a group photo session of all the VIPs of the day.
