Chilston Park Wedding Photography

We’ve seen many Kent Wedding Venues,  but Chilston Park is a Wedding Photographers dream with glorious locations for stunning images to be made of truly memorable days…  We we were honoured to tell the story of Tracy & David’s big wedding day at Chilston Park in Kent!

Chilston Park Wedding Venue

Chilston Park is a luxury hotel, a classic  17th Century British Country House, and a stunning wedding venue located in Lenham, not far from Maidstone, Canterbury, Ashford or London.  Nestled away behind tree lined roads, far away from the hustle and bustle of nearby towns, Chilston Park boasts 22 acres of beautiful parkland for you and your wedding guests to spread out and enjoy! A Grade I listed building, the beautiful Chilston Park offers accommodation for wedding guests as well as the possibility of exclusive hire of the wedding venue.

Chilston Park boasts weddings with “a little extra sparkle”. Your dream wedding ceremony can take place in the country house in an elegant period room or outside in the glorious Kentish Gardens. Chilston Park also hosts an expert team to help you organise your wedding day, offering advice on everything from menu selection to arrivals by helicopter.

We were excited to once again work with Sharon Harris of Adornare as MUA as she always does a spectacular job and makes sure our brides are ready on time but with no compromise whatsoever on the quality of the work!  Click here to see an article we recently did about Sharon and why choosing an amazing MUA is so important – or alternatively…

Tracy & David’s Spectacular Wedding at Chilston Park Hotel

We were excited about Tracy & David’s wedding from the moment we first met them at a wedding fair in Kent, and got to know them very well soon after during their engagement session and  timeline consultation and venue walk-around! As it turns out their story of how they met was an especially brilliant one – see more below:

How did you first meet?

Dave:  Tracy was this quiet, shy lady in the office who fitted in with everyone !!
Tracy:  Dave was the loud, over powering boss !!
Tracy: It was my birthday and Dave offered to take me out to dinner.  He booked a restaurant in Greenwich and because it was a lovely evening, suggested that we park in Greenwich park  and walk through the park to the restaurant …. lovely idea !  So we took a nice stroll through the park, hand in hand, found the restaurant and had a fantastic meal.  At about 10.30pm we left the restaurant and headed back towards the park only to find the pedestrian gate was closed !!!!  We then proceeded to walk up Greenwich hill and back round to the main entrance to find that the main gates were locked and the car had been locked in the park for the night !!!!
We then spent the next 45 mins trying to find a taxi that would take us home and eventually managed to get one.  It cost nearly £100 to get home that night and then the following day I had to pick Dave up really early, drive him back up to Greenwich, and collect his car !!!  I think that was the most expensive date going !!!!
After being together 5 years (all the while saying that I wouldn’t get married again!!) Dave chose Christmas Eve/Day to propose !!  We had moved in together the previous year and had gone to midnight mass at the local church that first year.  We both enjoyed it so much that we decided to make it a tradition that we would go back every year.  So Christmas Eve 2016 comes round and we make plans to go that evening.  I was completely oblivious and even when my 15 year old son said he was coming too, it still didn’t twig that Dave was up to something!  When we walked into the church we tried to sit near the back but the vicar came over and asked us to move closer to the front (2nd row !!!!) as she liked her “flock” to be close!!!  The service ends by the Vicar offering a merry Christmas to everyone and you are then supposed to offer your blessings to the people sitting around you.  I therefore turned to the row behind us and was talking to them and when I turned back around, Dave was on one knee at the end of our row and EVERYONE was watching !!!!  He blurted out some mumbled words which apparently was “I want to spend the rest of my life with you” and opened a ring box !!!  By this point, I was crying and everyone else was cheering and clapping !!!!!  We were the talk of the village for the next few weeks !!!!
Please see below for our favourite wedding photos from this most special day for such a lovely couple – if Tracy & David weren’t lovely and memorable enough, add to the mix surprise singing waiters and a twin brother as best man – and for sure this is a wedding we’ll also treasure forever!
