A hard to find gem in the glorious Cambrdigeshire country side is the beautiful wedding venue of Childreley Long Barn which set the stage for the glorious wedding of Sarah & Riccardo!

Childerley Hall and Barn is the product of over 60 years of renovation and hard work by the Jenkins family to create four acres of romantic gardens, renowned for its old-fashioned roses, majestic lawns, elegant lake and restored Jacobean chapel. The Hall is steeped in history having been the site of the detainment of King Charles I. The mystical charm and wonder that Childerley holds has enchanted visitors for generations and the Childerley team has organised events here for over a decade.

The crowning piece of this wedding venue is the 19th century Long Barn, once a working modern farm building, now transformed into a stunning loocation for weddings! With a glorious 1.5 mile private drive snaking through old orchards and beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside, Childerley Long Barn can be hard to find but is well worth the find!

Sarah & Riccardo are both massive Harry Potter fans, as you can clearly see from the theme and decor of their Harry Potter themed wedding! Riccardo’s proposal was also a special Harry Potter theme as well! Riccardo and Sarah have a replica of the mirror from the first book/film, called the mirror of Erised. This mirror is where, when you look into it, it shows you what your heart desires the most. On this mirror Riccardo had written, “Will you marry me”, to ask the question whilst also symbolising that this is what both myself and (hopefully) Sarah would desire the most in the world.

Later that evening, whilst watching the last Harry Potter film, after a lot of quiet patience on Riccardo’s part, Sarah finally went to look in the mirror. There were immediate tears, and Sarah turned to find Riccardo on one knee with her engagement ring. Luckily between the tears, she managed to say yes!!!!!

The Harry Potter theme wasn’t the only important theme of the wedding day – as their wedding church in Cambridge is very special to Sarah, as she has been a member of that community her whole life.
