Why should I choose Mykey Day Photography for my wedding?
As a full time professional wedding photographer with experience of photographing hundreds of weddings at venues across the UK and now Europe, you can be assured of the quality and professionalism of my work.
Our collections on offer stand out from all the rest with their premium products, generous coverage and number of images delivered, and stunning style of wedding photography. With 8-10 hours as standard, we can ensure that every magical moment of your day is captured, and we tell the story of your day in the most creative and unique way possible. From ‘bridal-prep to first-dance’ just doesn’t tell the story of your whole day, which is why we’re normally there from breakfast until after the fireworks.
Our professional but fun and relaxed style of photography often gets compliments on the day from wedding guests as to how unobtrusive yet dedicated we are.
We limit the number of weddings we photograph each year and we would never shoot more than one wedding on any one day, so you get the full and complete dedication and quality from us from beginning to end.
What style of photography do you shoot?
As explained in one of our blog posts before there are many types and styles of photography, and typically during the course of your wedding we shoot a number of styles. This includes reportage (Candid, fun and off-moment photos), traditional (group photos), contemporary (the ceremony and reception), and our signature fine-art style creatives images that makes us so popular with our clients. This gives you the maximum choice and variety for your wedding photograph album. Ultimately the style and type of photos we take is very much dictated by yourselves during our timeline consultation and venue walk arounds.
When and how do we see the photographs?
Usually your deluxe crystal USB full of completely edited photographs is is sent to you within 3-4 weeks of you wedding – usually a lot sooner. We’ll also post sneak-peeks on our blog and Facebook within a few days for you to share with friends.
We are getting married outside the South-East (Kent, London, Essex, Surrey).
That’s no problem at all, in the last few years we have shot weddings in Rome, Paris, Crete, Cyprus, Seville, and beyond… There are no additional costs for weddings in the South-East, with only minor additional costs for weddings beyond. For destination weddings in Europe we only charge flights and 3 days hotel stay, and beyond Europe we ask for flight costs and 5 days hotel stay.
How many photographers are included with our collection?
All our fine-art wedding photography collections include a second photographer. This doesn’t just make twice as many pictures, but trebles the quality with more candid and natural photographs possible on your wedding day, and also allows multiple angles causing less intrusion on the day as well as striking spreads in your wedding album.
Can we tailor one of your collections?
Our collections have been finely tuned after many years of working with real couples to deliver stunning albums, all your wedding images, and to cater for various budgets. If you’d like to tailor our existing collections to increase the number of pages, hours coverage, or album style, this is all easily done and something we could discuss at any time from booking.
When and how do we pay?
At the time of booking I ask for a booking fee of approximately £450 which secures us for the date for your wedding. (We are in high demand, especially on key-dates, and operate a first-come-first-served policy to be completely fair). We have flexible payment options and are happy to adapt to your circumstances, but usually we ask that 50% of the total cost is typically due six calendar months before the wedding with the final balance due six calendar weeks before the wedding date.
How long will it take for our album to be ready?
We pre-design an ‘Artist’s Choice’ for you to take away all the stress and pain of choosing from so many lovely pictures. You get full choice to swap images and re-design your album if you like, which typically only takes a week or so, and from there our albums are handmade in Italy and can take up to six weeks to arrive (quality can’t be rushed!).
Do your wedding prices include VAT?
Between clever (legal) accounting and the fact that wedding albums are VAT exempt, we do not need to charge you VAT, as such no prices we quote are subject to VAT.
Do you have insurance?
As a full time professional photographer I have full public liability insurance as well as full professional indemnity insurance just in case.
We would like to use one of your photographs for our business (Wedding Venue / Floristry / Wedding Car Company / etc…)
We’re often asked about commercial use of our images by companies throughout the UK, and we’re more than happy to oblige! Please contact Mykey to discuss purchasing an image license. Typically, a two year license to use one image is £300. There are discounts for multiple images or multiple uses purchased at the same time.
