Wedding Entertainment Ideas

As wedding photographers in Kent and Essex, we get to see a lot of weddings across the South-East, and as such we get to see lots of cool ideas and thoughts for your wedding. Here we list a few ideas for you to consider!

Face Painting / Bouncy Castle For Children

Keeping kids entertained at weddings can be a nightmare – but here are a few easy and fun ideas for keeping the little ones out of mischief (and off the dance floor!).

Some companies offer play groups with face painting and toys for the kids to play away from the main wedding party – whether it’s in a side room or outside – it’s a great way to keep the kids entertained for hours.

Wedding Musicians

Musicians for Weddings is a great idea, whether its a guitarist, harpist, string quartet, saxophonist, or even a singing waiter, this is a completely non-intrusive way to add entertainment to your wedding day.

Make sure to decide carefully what kind of music will fit your wedding venue / wedding theme, and that there is adequate space for the musicians to perform. Also think about when to have them play…

Owls and Falconry

Owls and Wedding Falconry Displays are brilliant. End of. We love to see these at weddings, as they keep wedding guests entertained for the time inbetween the Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast.

Wedding Magicians

Wedding Magicians are quite simply a form of entertainment. Making for amazing photos of smiling and laughing guests, as well as keeping guests occupied and busy whilst you have your creative wedding photos it ticks a lot of boxes.

Personality is key – as a boring newbie will of course have much less of an impact than an experienced and seasoned professional magician. There are a few options as to when you hire your magician; the most popular being after the wedding ceremony and prior to the wedding breakfast. This is when the bride and groom, and perhaps the bridesmaids and groomsmen, are having the creative wedding photography whilst their guests are usually enjoying cocktail hour.

Magicians are a great way to ‘break the ice’ amongst small groups of guests who tend to cluster together as they don’t know the other guests. Wedding magicians are ideal at bringing guests together and mixing!

The second option is to provide magic at the tables during the wedding breakfast, and third is immediately after the wedding breakfast. Some weddings are quite long and this can be a good time for magic entertainment for the guests so as to avoid a lull, keeping the party going and catching some of the evening guests as they arrive.
