When it comes to Castle Weddings, Penshurst Place is a Kent Wedding Venue that simply does not disappoint! It was a very cold winter day for a winter wedding at Penshurst Place wedding venue in Kent, but spirits were high for Victoria & James’ beautiful Kent wedding.

Victoria & James’ Winter Wedding at Penshurst Place in Kent

Victoria & James had wonderful ideas for their special day together. It is many a bride’s dream for a Castle Wedding or a Winter Wedding, and Victoria opted for both in December 2017 for a fairytale day to be remembered.  The weather was touch and go as the week preceding was full of heavy rain and thunderstorms, but the god’s were kind and a typical beautiful English winter weather day greeted Victoria & James on their special day.

Helped along by the wonderful toastmaster David DiCara as well as having taken advantage of our Timeline Consultation and Venue Walk-Around, the day ran smoothly and we were able to take full advantage of the limited sunlight on a winter’s wedding day.

Set in the beautiful Wealden countryside Penshurst Place contains the 14th century historic ancestral home of the Sidney family, located not far from Tonbridge, Kent. This original medieval manor is one of the most complete surviving examples of 14th-century domestic architecture in England, originally built in 1341. As well as being a stunning Kent Wedding Venue Penshurst Place has also been the backdrop to famous film and television shows, such as: Merlin, The Others, and The Princess Bride.

There are over 10 acres of gorgeous gardens which have not changed much at all since Tudor time, including beautiful clipped hedges, a quiet fountain, and high yew hedges protecting the large orchard.  Penshurst Place creates a stunning backdrop your wedding imagery, both inside and out.  The Inner Courtyard is perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies, with seating for up to 120 guests.  Inside there are three options for your wedding ceremony, including: the Buttery, the Sunderland Room and the Baron’s Hall.

Victoria & James opted for the gorgeous Baron’s Hall which is the largest indoor location for weddings at Penshurst Place, surrounding the roasting fire and full of amazing medieval architecture.
