Lympne Castle Wedding Venue – Penny & Aden Wedding Photography

Lympne castle is one of the South-East’s top Wedding Venues and we were excited to be back there for Penny & Aden’s beautiful vintage wedding. The weather was suspiciously cloudy at this Sussex Wedding Venue after a spate of sunny day – but Penny & Aden didn’t let that deter them from having a fantastic fairytale wedding at this beautiful castle wedding venue.

Lympne Castle Wedding Venue

Lympne Castle is a beautiful Grade I listed building with history going back to the 13th century, and is a stunning land mark along the south-east coast.  This fairytale castle wedding venue is a perfect setting for any wedding or civil partnership ceremony, offering exclusive hire as standard so as to enjoy your day in luxury.  The grounds to the castle offer stunning views of the Sussex Coast and beyond to the English Channel, with the ability to see France on a clear day! The grounds are extensive with many gardens and classic architecture to make stunning wedding photography for you and your partner to forever remember your wedding day.  Inside the Castle is no disappointment either, with the Great Hall offering beautiful medieval windows and wooden panelling – transporting you back to another time in history!

Whilst the main castle hall dates back to the 13th century, the West Drawing Room was added in Edwardian times when the castle was restored after years of neglect. This room is ideal as an inside option for a rainy day wedding – and with beautiful views from the huge bow window overlooking the sea, it is often many couples’ first choice even on a rainy wedding day!  There are several options for outdoors wedding in the beautiful gardens and courtyards, with the peace of mind that the indoor option is there, should English weather try and spoil your wedding day

Penny & Aden’s Exciting Lmypne Castle Wedding

We first met Penny & Aden back in 2015 at a wedding fair in Kent in 2016 and we hit it off straight away.  We knew from talking with this fun couple that their wedding was going to be awesome! From Penny’s stunning 50s style wedding dress, to Aden’s 13 groomsmen (that’s right 13!), and from having their pet pug bring the rings down the aisle to all the wedding flowers (including wedding bouquet) being made of paper (thanks mum – they were stunning!), we knew this was going to be a wedding we would love to be a part of.

The weather wasn’t playing ball for Penny & Aden, but luckily Lympne Castle is such a stunning wedding venue even on the inside, it in no way spoilt their day!  They had a flag run up with pug-a-licious on it (nice touch!) and the day began as epically as it was to go on…

Riding in an open top land rover, the groomsmen got some funny looks from the police on the motorway – but luckily no tickets!  They were a hilarious bunch of lads, and the photos reflect the fun time they were having on this day for celebration.  Meanwhile the bride was getting ready in the bridal suite and well ahead of schedule we managed to get some photos in the halls with her and the famous pug!

The ceremony was beautiful, and after a few tears and a few “I dos” we were out on to the famous courtyards and driveways at Lympne castle for confettin pictures, and some ‘bride & groom driving off into the sunset’ photos!  Whilst in the middle of the creatives the ice cream van turned up (we wish every wedding had an ice cream van!) and we managed to incorporate this moment of their day into their creative wedding photos.

That evening there was a surprise in store for Aden, as Penny had arranged a performance by the silent choir of which she was a member, followed by a beautiful first dance and some really emotional moments as the importance of the day finally sunk in!

We were honoured and privileged as wedding photographers to be asked to document Penny & Aden’s wedding at Lympne Castle, and we can only hope all our clients are as fun in the future! Thanks again!
