Getting Married in Kent & Essex

Getting married? So much planning and many things to consider!   You’ll have amazing moment and memories that you’ll want to remember long after the magic day. Photographs are perhaps the most important part of this process and a crucial part of your wedding day. We have shot hundreds of weddings across England and in 4 other countries over the years, so we know a lot about what can happen on a wedding day. Here at Mykey Day Photography, the most important consideration for us you to love your wedding photographs when you look back on them time and time again over the years to come…

Booking your Wedding Photographer

We’ve previously made a blog post on things to consider when hiring a photographer (take a look for more in-depth information) but in a nut-shell these are the top things to do/consider:

  1. Quality of images they can make for you.
  2. Quality of Wedding Albums.
  3. Recommendations from previous couples.
  4. Their artistic and creative style.
  5. Personality – (It’s important you ‘click’!).
  6. Take the time to study their previous work (make sure you love their style and before booking).
  7. Make sure they know how to work with you and your guests to create stunning photos (and they won’t hide behind their camera!).
  8. Make sure they have professional level equipment (and know how to use it).
  9. Ask if they Shoot Raw or Jpeg (shooting RAW allows for much better editing of images from the digital negative, instead of a Jpeg which can’t be changed).
  10. Customer Service – the artist who tells the story of your day should be there for you before and after the big day, helping you with organising and planning the wedding, as well as designing your wedding album and creating wall art for your home.

Wedding Photographer Kent & Essex

Mykey Day Photography is based just between Maidstone and Medway in Kent, and travel extensively for couples who want top-level wedding photography. We are always saddened when we meet couples who’s wedding photographer failed to meet their expectations – and are keen to share the word about professional level wedding photography for recently engaged couples – before it’s too late!

For many people getting married, it’s their first time, and even if not, there is so much to consider. Whether it’s the timings of the ceremony and meals, whether uncle Frank is eating pork or chicken, where the bridesmaids will get ready – what time the MUA should be finished…. The list goes on and on… Often there is not much help out there, certainly no evening classes on planning a wedding, and maybe your friends giving you advice don’t know what they’re talking about because they aren’t experts either!

We’re here to help. As wedding photographers with hundreds of weddings under our belts, it’s important to us to share that wealth of experience with our clients… Where do you start? Booking your venue and getting the wedding on the date you want is job number one.

Next is wedding photography. We’re not actually sure why photography is usually couples’ second thing on their to-do list, we can only surmise it’s because all the good ones can get booked up years in advance, especially for prime dates (we’re taking booking for August 2020!).

Choosing your photographer is no easy task, there are A LOT of choice out there. Some good, some bad, some amazing and very, very many who are down-right awful. There’s one thing that will help you, and that’s the fact that quality wedding photography is easy to recognise, and stands out heads and shoulders above the rest. By checking out photographer’s work (maybe on websites, referrals, or at wedding fayres) you can get a good idea both of the quality of their work, and also what style appeals to you most.

Mykey Day Photography has very many wedding albums to show you from previous weddings by the world’s leading supplier of wedding albums, and hopefully you’ll agree that our range of albums is outstanding. We are confident you won’t find any better from a Wedding Photographer in Kent, Essex, or Surrey!

Other Wedding Suppliers

There are so many other things to consider and so many vendors and services to book for your wedding day. Whether it’s your wedding dress, wedding flowers, wedding cake, cars, DJ , etc… We have experience with a wide variety of wedding suppliers in Kent, Essex, London, Surrey, and beyond…  We’ll soon be posting blogs and articles about our favourites, but in the mean time if you would like some recommendations – don’t hesitate to get in touch!

We want to help!
